Hoping there was something for tether distance on non dedicated. The purpose of this is to be able to transfer from ark to ark with my friends without having to rent servers. However the non-dedicated allows to, because it puts anything outside of a certain area in stasis.

I downloaded Ark and played with my wife (whose on a series s) and the tether is still there on non dedicated play. However the non-dedicated allows to, because it puts anything outside of a certain area in stasis.
Non-Dedicated Multiplayer tether range increased +33%, Maximum number of players in non-dedicated sessions increased to 8! All of the PC’s Server options are now exposed to Hosting/Local Sessions (even options that were previously hidden in INI’s), and all options have direct-input textboxes for using any arbritrary value.

It makes the game a lot less fun than it could be. If you even just lengthened it, I would be ok with that.
